Head of Infrastructure

Tuomas Korhonen

Helsinki, Finland

Fifteen years running infrastructure for Nordic banks and telecoms. Tuomas keeps every Keltus deployment boring on purpose.

Tuomas spent fifteen years running production infrastructure at two Nordic banks and a major Finnish telecommunications operator — the kind of jobs where uptime requirements are written into regulatory filings and a single dropped session is a board-level incident. He learned the specific discipline of "infrastructure that surprises no one" and brought it with him to Keltus when he joined in early 2023.

His domain at Keltus is everything between "the code is written" and "the user sees the result": deployment pipelines, nginx configuration, systemd services, monitoring, alerting, the rebuild listener that picks up Directus content changes and ships a fresh static site in ten seconds. He wrote most of the deploy/ folder in the keltus.io repository personally. His standing principle is that a production system should be operable by someone who has read the runbook once, even at 3 a.m.

Tuomas keeps a home lab with twelve servers and writes a popular technical blog on systemd internals (he is also a co-maintainer of two systemd-related open-source tools). He competes in cross-country skiing at the Finnish national amateur level, plays the kantele (the traditional Finnish zither), and is the only Keltus engineer who will admit to enjoying writing documentation.
